Madrid Tourist Information

Finding the right information with low effort.

Madrid is a vibrant city, visited by more than 10 million tourists a year. The city offers many options for its visitors to make their stay worth every penny, but they had a problem: They have so much information, many people just overlooked it because of how overwhelming it was to find the right information.

Old design - Lack of Hierarchy

Most of the information on the website was nested inside a section inside a section inside another section. After testing with users, most of them weren't able to complete the tasks given to them. Finding information when nested 3 sections in was impossible even for the most tech experienced users.   

Design proposal - Less is More

Testing & Conclusion

After testing the new design with a prototype, users commented not knowing many of the things the site had to offer (Season passes, bus or metro passes, amongst other things). Most said in the case of a trip to Madrid they'd definitely look up to purchase some of the passes that Madrid's transport office had to offer. 

The information was easy to find and read, and the users were making good use of it!
